A day in Hunting Houses

Alright, it’s Sunday and I’m seriously tired and bored. I got so damned tired from hiking/walking all around Brisbane yesterday in an attempt in finding rooms for my brother and sister.

The initial plan was just to inspect one house, ONE! But then I had to be a good sister (and also look out for my interest because I do not want to be stranded at the end of my term with no place to stay) and just make sure they the room my sister found was a good deal, but also not the only deal. So there I want and searched the web high and low for houses/rooms for rent and come up with several opportunities.

However, as luck would have it the time was past 5pm by 10 minutes! Damn and double DAMN! My retched luck. Oh yeah the reason why I was so hard working is because the place that my sibs want me to have look at requires me to arrive there by 9am!!!

I had to get up at 5am to get reason to catch the 6.06am bus to catch a train to get to Brisbane. IT took nearly 3 hours for me to get to the house in Windsor! And for what? For such a crappy, old, falling apart House! It had a washing machine in the basement with no light and unidentified stuff on the ground. It was not only creepy it was also disgusting! After talking with the man, I went on to call my sister to report my findings. Guess what? The damn phone was turned off… and I only have 5 minutes of credit left! So I had to call my mom and thank god she was awake and asked her to wake my sister up and fortunately for me she did.

Oh and I forgot to mention that the damned washing machine requires money to run! I mean WTF? So the conclusion was NO! HELL NO WAY were they want to stay there even if it was only $125 a week inclusive of utilities.

So at a loss of what to do I took a train back to Central Station found a seat and proceeded to search for more houses on the wed. Luckily for me there was several house, the unfortunate part was that almost all the inspection were scheduled for weekdays! And damn it my class and workshops are everyday from 9am to 5pm every Monday to Friday.

For the ones that I managed to make it on Saturday I went but I can tell you now it was either fight with a mob for a house or seriously sucky houses. My last chance came in the way of a reply for rooms wanted on http://au.easyroommate.com/ and lo and behold I found a jackpot and my search was over.

The whole expedition came to an end at 5pm and the landlord was kind enough to drop me at a train station!

It was then that I realize that I had not eaten the whole damned day@! But had inadvertently managed to spend over $20 on drinks. This is despite the fact that I brought my own water for the day. By the time I took my dinner (which I severely needed), catch a train and then later a bus home it was 9pm. I was ready to sleep in my cloths the only that was putting it off was that I was so sticky. By the time I took a bath and showed… Gerard called…. Despite the fact that it was a long long day and an extremely tiring one, that one call made my day and settled my heart and gave me peace. Until now, I still wonder how I’m so lucky. Sigh… and I do realize that I turn into an extremely mushy person the minute I start thinking about him.

Hehehehe but it was great to fall asleep to the sound of his voice.

Arriving in Gold Coast

I have officially arrived in Gold Coast. To tell you the truth this still feels surreal.

First to tell you my plane ride experience. It was a mix between hell and so-so but mostly hell. The plane has changed. This new one from Air Asia Kuala Lumpur to Gold Coast flight is totally uncomfortable. (I.e. if you are tall like me). This plane ride further deteriorated when I was forced to seat between 2 guys. The guy who had the window seat was a damn talker! He said that he was from Korea and that if we don’t mind he would like to talk to us. (Being me and the aisle seat guy who for the life of me I can’t remember his name). I told the window seat guy MR. W that I have not had much sleep and is totally stressed out and would like to sleep (since it was a night flight anyway). He nodded.

Nodded but the aisle seat guy, MR. A said sure. And I thought well shit now I can’t sleep.

So there I was I the middle with a headache and this W talking at the top of his lungs while I’m trying to catch some shut eye.

But every time he made some commend about Malaysia I had to but it. While I’m so patriotic I draw the line at anyone bad mouthing my country in front of my face.

So anyway this went on all the way until 2am when I just couldn’t give a damn anymore. And thank god somewhere through the idiot shut up. But even so the seat was damned uncomfortable. But I have to say when I woke up I was already in Australia and I have to say the view was spectacular.
What else?
Oh yeah I made a big mistake at the airport. I accidentally left my handbag at customs and only realized it when I tried to purchase reload for my phone number outside. I can tell you I totally freaked out and ran to the nearest security guard and asked for help, and thank god just when we reached the entrance to look for it the customs guy came out with the bag. I would like to say again thank god for the luck and the end of the drama.
I’ve since moved into my room and have been setting up my nest since. I say since because there’s no freaking shopping mall nearby. The nearest one is at least 10 mins away by bus. I have already taken 5 trips but I’m still far away from finished. This is because I have no damn car!! I want one but can’t afford one at the moment because my freaking course does not allow me to get a part time job! How shitty is that?!

As a result I am now considering an online business. I’m not sure if I will succeed but I can only hope. I’m still working a game plan on that. Was thinking of maybe a baking or food business.

Oh well until next then…

A Quote

Hi Guys,

Unfortunately I didn't write this one but I felt that this quote is so beautiful and romantic that I ought to put it up.

This is a quote from Trend Setter in Facebook...

"A girl asked her lover,am I pretty?, he said, No.

Do u like me?, he said, No.

Do u want to be with me forever?, he said, No.

Lastly, she asked, Would u cry if I walk away?, he answered, No.

As she walked away crying, he grabbed her arm gently and says, You're not pretty, but you're beautiful.

I don't like you, but I love you.

I don't ...want you forever, but I need you til the end of my life, and if you walk away I won't cry, but I will die."

I hope anyone who sees this likes it too. Muah**

Life is so confusing

Ok, shit its been ages since I wrote anything. Can you believe it? Well my best friend would say “duh!”

Alright alright! I get it already. But I still have to defend myself by saying it’s caused by some shitty event after another.

So here’s the thing. Since my last blog I’ve been:

a) Cut off from all internet source

b) Running around like a mad woman applying for Uni because my current Uni decided that it was such a great idea graduating late.

c) Had the shit loads of bad new from 2008 dumped on me in the space of an hour. (mind you this is an hour from touch down in Malaysia)

d) Not even have time to digest that as more bad news gets dump on my feet

e) Arrange to get my butt back to Australia within 3 weeks

f) Met a Great Guy

g) Have to leave just when I met said guy

h) Lonely, friendless new place (however warm it is)

i) Fallin sick and being so damn in pain (psysically that is) that I rushed to the emergency. (Mind you again, I have never ever been into the hospital in my life by my own account and the fact that I have not needed to see a doctor in the last 16 months.

Therefore, this just sucks! Therefore, I really do have a valid reason why I could not blog.

Phew... finally got that out of my system. Feeling so much better now.

BACK to me then, I have been thinking of making apple jam again… been dreaming about it actually. However, I have not found a good container yet to put it in. Was thinking of going to Myers to get something.

The New Medi Bac Travel Kit

I must say, I have an affinity for natural/organic based product. The reason? Because in today’s world we are always, and I do mean always surrounded by pollution both internally with what we consume and externally in what we breathe due to pollution in the air and sun.

For this reason, I chose Dermalogica's Medi Bac kit. This Medi Bac kit is actually the new and improved formula of the original acne kit. It’s reasonably priced, here in Hobart it’s available for only $65 for the whole kit and it has essentially everything you need for short term or just to test the product out before buying the normal to jumbo sized bottles.

Now this kit contains a Clearing Skin Wash that is 1.7 Fl Oz/50ml. Now I have to say for those who do not like the herbs smell please think twice. Though its scent is not strong, to those who are terribly particular please give some thought about whether you are able to tolerate the smell before buying the normal sized bottle. As I have a combination skin type, I say that the its both effective at the oily areas of the skin as well as gentle on the dry areas as it does not overdry the skin. This product is known to wash away excess surface oil on the skin and helps clear congested follicles as wells as calm inflammation. All you need is one pump.

The second product in this kit is the Clearing Mattifier that is 0.5 FL Oz/15ml. This product is matte it nature. All you need for the whole face is less than a pea size drop. What is does it helps to control the shine of the face as well as smooths out the skin texture. It also diminishes certain fine lines (it’s not a miracle worker) and clear congestion.

The third product is the Oil Control Lotion (SAMPLE). However it’s only a sample. This lotion is lovely and light oil-free moisturiser. It hydrates the skin, helps reduce shine and provides a certain matte finish. *NOTE: the matte finish of the Clearing Mattifier is the best for the matte effect.

The fourth product is my favourite. It’s the Overnight Clearing Gel that is 0.5 FL Oz/15ml. Put just a little bit on the pimple whether it’s just emerging or have broken out and inflamed. It’s used after cleansing your face but before the moisturiser. Wait for it to dry out first before applying the moisturiser. This product helps to subside or dry the pimple without drying the area around it. This product generally helps to take off pore clogging cells as well as aid skin clearing. However as its name indicates it’s only to be used at night.

The day treatment is the fifth product which is the Concealing Spot Treatment that is 0.1 FL Oz/3ml. This is a naturally tinted product that contains sulphur. I cannot give a personal view on this as I am allergic to sulphur. However to get around this problem I used the Overnight Clearing Gel in the day as well. What is does is dry out the pimple during the day under your make-up.

The last product in this kit is the Sebum Clearing Masque that is 0.75 FL Oz/22ml. This is only used after cleansing. What it is is a cooling type mask that absorbs excess surface oil as well as purifies the skin. It can be used over the entire face and throat or just in the T-zone area. However your must avoid the eye area.

The entire product except the mask must be used daily. I love this kit and would strongly recommend it to my friends who have similar problems. The price and size of this kit is great for people who would like to travel or tryout a new product. However I would say that the only thing missing from this kit is the toner.

Overall this product is a 5/5.

The grey week gone by

Ok, here's the deal... after a smashing long and boring last week (with the exception to an extremly hot fishing day) my week was so... so... boring.

Even though i had fun at a friends birthday party on that wednesday... it was still completely dull! gray! and lifeless!

You'd think a girl will go crazy and wild after an exam wouldn't you. Sigh... so i thought to myself you really must find something to do. So what i did was...

I took a writing course! You'd i'd come up with something better. So anyway its a romance writing course... hopefully i'd be better able to progress with my book. I'm currently stuck at the part where they got together but not...

See! Does this even makes sense to you? Yeah well... its coming now. Hopefully the conversation get better too.

Oh yeah, I invited the birthday boy as well as my close friends here Jerine and Marcus. OH, and the two guys i've been hanging outwith Calvin and Arvid. I made char kwey teow! And man was it a success! a little bit spicy for the last place but a success nonetheless. I also made bubur kacang hijau or mung bean porridge! It was perfect! and made a none eater a tryer at least.

So... that was last week. Hopefully this week will be better.

To eat or not to eat? To eat of course!

Food..

I have been obsessed with good food lately and am clueless as to the reason why.

But then, my exams are over (woohoo) to that. I guess since i have time now i should be cooking. Ummm... all the sinfully delicious, luscious and mouthwatering foods.

So what would be good to sink you teeth into? A gooie, smooth decadent chocolate cake? An apple crumble that is sweet, sour but a bit of crunch? or a naturally sweet and wonderfully smelling orange cake that reminds you of home?

All these choices and so little time.... oh dear me...
